In the hustle and bustle of life, amidst the chaos of schedules and responsibilities, there's always been one constant companion that brings me solace and joy—crocheting. It all started back in grade school, specifically in the fifth grade, when one of our teachers introduced us to the art of crochet. Little did I know, that simple lesson would ignite a lifelong passion within me.
At first, crocheting was merely a pastime, something to while away the hours. But as the days passed, I found myself increasingly drawn to the rhythmic motions of the hook and yarn. Before long, I was hooked—pun intended 😂. I began experimenting with different stitches and patterns, slowly but surely honing my skills.
Fast forward to today, and my collection of crocheted creations is nothing short of impressive. From bags to wallets, hats to flowers, and even a squishy or two, I've dabbled in a bit of everything. There's something immensely satisfying about bringing yarn to life, watching it transform into something both beautiful and functional.
Crocheting has become more than just a hobby—it's a form of therapy, a way to calm my mind and soothe my soul. There's a meditative quality to the repetitive motions, a sense of peace that washes over me with each stitch.
I've often toyed with the idea of turning my passion into a business, of sharing my creations with the world. During vacations, I've taken tentative steps towards that dream, crafting pieces to sell and experimenting with different designs. But alas, as life often does, college happened. My schedule became jampacked, my duties and responsibilities multiplied, and something had to give.
But even as my crocheting took a backseat to the demands of academia, it never truly left me. It's a part of who I am, woven into the fabric of my being. And though my hooks may lie dormant for now, I know that they'll always be there, waiting patiently for the next moment of inspiration.
So here's to crocheting—the art that brings comfort in times of chaos, joy in moments of solitude, and beauty in the ordinary. Here's to the memories of childhood lessons and the dreams of future creations. And here's to the journey, wherever it may lead.
With love, creativity. and violet dreams,
Eds 💜
